Carolyn Walker

Housing Outreach Attorney

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Carolyn has practiced law in several roles in the domestic violence field over the course of her career.  Carolyn’s experience includes seven years as a Deputy District Attorney for the Counties of Shasta and Tehama. As a prosecutor, Carolyn handled cases, calendars, and tried many jury trials to verdict. She specialized in cases involving juveniles, domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sexual assault crimes. Carolyn has also worked as the Legal Program Manager at Empower Tehama in the Far North of California, assisting survivors of domestic violence obtain benefits, justice and hope.  At FVAP, Carolyn’s role is the Rural Housing Outreach Attorney in the Housing and Employment Justice Program. She will assist with extending FVAP’s outreach to rural communities in California with housing trainings, information, and assistance. 

Ms. Walker completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, California and her Juris Doctor at the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. She is a Member of the California State Bar Association, Tehama County Bar Association and an experienced domestic violence advocate.
