              This letter discusses issues experienced by gender minority DV survivors, such as higher rates of arrests, restraining orders, and self- defense.
The letter also discuss the unique fears LGBTQIA2S+ DV survivors may have about losing child custody because of one’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
You can use this letter to provide information about your situation to the mediator, evaluator, or recommending counselor in your case.
Supporting resources include an instruction sheet to help you fill out the letter and a brief, discussing these same issues, that you can submit to the trial court.
