(1) If a court orders 50/50 parenting time (such as "Mother for four days, Father for three"), that is equivalent to an order for joint custody even if the judge doesn't call it that.

(2) Courts may not order joint custody for an abusive parent without discussing the factors of Family Code § 3044 on the record.

(3) You are entitled to have the court give you a "statement of decision" explaining the reasoning for its orders.
