Survivors with Criminal Records Applying for Housing

This packet has information and template letters to help people with criminal histories who are looking for rental housing.  This packet is tailored to survivors of gender-based violence, but should help anyone who is looking for rental housing and has a criminal history. The packet includes:

1. Information about when and how landlords are allowed to consider an applicant's criminal history.

2. A template letter people can use if they are denied rental housing because of a criminal conviction.

3. A template letter people can use if they are denied rental housing because of a criminal history the landlord was not supposed to consider.
