Protective Orders and the Advocates’ Role (2018)
This training provides a general overview of the various types of protective orders available to survivors of domestic violence in California, including Emergency Protective Orders, Criminal Protective Orders, Domestic Violence Prevention Act Restraining Orders, and Civil Harassment Restraining Orders. Additionally, the training provides a step-by-step procedural overview of the civil restraining order process in California, and discusses how domestic violence advocates can support survivors through this often unfamiliar and difficult process. Family Violence Appellate Project will provide 0.50 general MCLE credits.
