Miranda is a rising 3L at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She has a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Gender Studies. As a Latinx woman and a member of the LGBT+ community, she is passionate about serving underrepresented members of the community and has demonstrated a commitment to public interest law. Last summer, Miranda worked with Bay Area Legal Aid in their Economic Justice Unit, assisting low-income residents of the Bay Area with their SSI/SSDI and CAPI disability claims. In the future, she hopes to continue working with organizations such as FVAP to provide folks with meaningful access to the civil legal system.

Jordan Porterfield is a rising 3L at the UC Davis School of Law (King Hall). As a lawyer, Jordan hopes to represent survivors of gender-based violence. At King Hall, Jordan was a student of the UC Davis Domestic and Sexual Violence Law Clinic, serving as a legal advisor to a complainant in the Title IX process. Jordan co-founded the Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Association at King Hall, which prioritizes a space for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence within the law school community. Next year, Jordan will continue with her passion for direct legal services by participating in the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic.
James Taylor

James will be a third-year law student this fall at Seattle University School of Law. He comes to FVAP with prior experience, including working as a Family Dependency CASA on cases involving child abuse and neglect and at a small law firm focused on restitution for children survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation. Prior to law school, James worked for non-profit organizations both domestically and internationally. James wants to continue working in public interest and is eager to learn new skills to meaningfully contribute to FVAP’s mission this summer.
