Elissa Gray (she/her) is an Equal Justice Works Fellow, sponsored by Greenberg Traurig, LLP and The Clorox Company Foundation, at Family Violence Appellate Project (FVAP). Elissa’s fellowship project will increase access to writ review for low-income domestic violence survivors facing harmful orders that lack adequate remedies through direct representation, resource development, and community partnerships.
Elissa was born and raised in Las Vegas, where her commitment to survivor advocacy began. She received her Juris Doctor from University of California, Berkeley and her Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Political Science, minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies, from Northwestern University. During law school, Elissa interned at Family Violence Law Center, the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office Juvenile Unit, FVAP, and East Bay Children’s Law Offices.
