Staff Attorney

Elissa Gray (she/her) is a Staff Attorney who leads FVAP’s Lifeline to Justice Program. The program began in 2023 when Elissa joined FVAP as an Equal Justice Works Fellow, sponsored by Greenberg Traurig, LLP and The Clorox Company Foundation. Elissa’s fellowship project and now the Lifeline to Justice Program increases access to writ review for survivors across California facing harmful orders that require emergency intervention from the appellate court.

Elissa was born and raised in Las Vegas, where her commitment to survivor advocacy began. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Political Science, minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies, from Northwestern University. During law school, Elissa interned at Family Violence Law Center, the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office Juvenile Unit, FVAP, and East Bay Children’s Law Offices.
